Foto Friday

Interestingly, the new Gold Line Arcadia Station will be at the northwest corner of First Avenue and Santa Clara Street, which is not far from the original Arcadia Station’s location.  This original Arcadia Station was a one-story, three-room structure, with a freight room that was added later. The plan for the new Gold Line Arcadia Station is to have a 300-car parking structure, bicycle parking, and lockers.

This c. 1898 photograph shows a group of people at the Arcadia Station on the Santa Fe Railroad. The view is toward the east. The Arcadia Station was located at First Avenue and Saint Joseph Street, but the building was dismantled in 1969, and moved to the Pomona Fairgrounds.
