Dictionary Day!

October 16 is Dictionary Day in America, a day to appreciate dictionaries and learn new words. Dictionary Day is in honor of Noah Webster, the Father of the American Dictionary, born on October 16, 1758.

So join in the celebration by pulling down your dictionary from the book shelf--or checking one out at the Arcadia Public Library--and go exploring. See what new words have been added to the dictionary. Look up the definitions of obscure words. And guess which words might end up in the dictionary in a few years.
