America’s Economy

Want to keep tabs on the latest gross domestic product data while waiting for lunch? There's an app for that!

The Census Bureau has released an app, America’s Economy, which tracks in real-time 16 economic indicators put out by the Census Bureau, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and the Bureau of Economic Analysis. The data includes numbers on employment, home sales, personal income figures, retail sales, and so much more.

Users can set alerts to receive notifications when economic indicators are updated. They can also add statistical release schedules to their personal calendars. When each indicator is released, users can also share the news on both Facebook and Twitter.

The app is currently available for Google’s suite of Android-powered smartphones, as well as Apple’s iPhone and iPad.

To start ogling, crunching, or otherwise enjoying quick access to major US economic indicators visit the United States Census Bureau website.
