California Voter Information Guide

To learn more about the many propositions that are going to be on the ballot November 4th, check out the California Secretary of State's Official Voter Information Guide. Each proposition has an entry that includes its title and summary, an analysis, arguments and rebuttals, and the full text of the proposed law. The guide also includes Presidential candidate statements. There is an audio version for the vision-impaired, as well as translations into Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Tagalog, and Vietnamese.

Nobel Prize in Literature Awarded

Last week the Swedish Academy awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature to French novelist Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clezio. The academy described Le Clezio as an "author of new departures, poetic adventure and sensual ecstasy, explorer of a humanity beyond and below the reigning civilization." For his efforts, Le Clezio will receive a prize worth $1.4 million, as well as a gold medal.
