2007 Nobel Prize in Literature Awarded
British author Doris Lessing was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature on October 11th. Lessing has written over 50 works in a wide variety of genres, including novels, short stories, plays, nonfiction, two operas, and a graphic novel. The Nobel website recommends that readers unfamiliar with her work might want to start with her Martha Quest series of novels (Children of Violence, volumes 1-5, Fiction Lessing) or her 2004 collection of essays entitled Time Bites (Nonfiction, 809 L).
